Step-by-step explanation:

N(U) = 60

N.(H) = 40% of 60

N.(H) =

\frac{40}{100} \times 60 \: = \: 24

N.(E) = 25% of 60

N.(E) =

\frac{25}{100} \times 60 \: = \: 15

N(HnE) = 60 - 24 - 15 = 21

N(E) = ???

N(E) = N.(E)+N(HnE)

= 15 + 21 = 36

where, N(U) = Total students

N.(E) = Students who can speak English

only

N.(H) = Students who can speak Hindi

only

N(HnE) = Students who can speak both

N(E) = Students who can speak English

Answer is 36
