• Total score of p students = 70p
• Average score of n students = 92
• Total score of n students = 92n
• Combined average score of both the classes(p+n students) = 86
• Total score of both classes = 86(p+n)
• Equating total score of both classes combined , we get

Total score of p students + Total score on n students = Total score of Both classes

70p + 92n = 86(p + n)

70p + 92n = 86p + 86n

16p = 6n

p/n = 3/8
