In a class test (+3) marks are given for every correct answer and (- 2) for every incorrect answer and no marks for not attempting any question. (1) Radhika scored 20 Marks. If she has got 12 correct answers how many questions has she attempted incorrectly? (2) Mohan scores (-5) marks in the test, though he has got 7 correct answers. How many questions has he attempted incorrectly? Please Answer me with the Solution. Thanks

1) Radhika's mark is 20. she has answered 12 questions correctly, her marks can be represented as, 12x(+3)+ k(-2)=20
                                 so,               -2k   =20-36
                                                        -2k=-16
                                                           k=8
so, she has answered 8 questions wrongly.
2)same way, Mohan has answered 7 questions correctly and got -5 marks.
so,     7x(+3)+ k(-2)=-5
                         -2k=-5-21
                         -2k=-26
                            k=13
so.. he has answered 13 questions wrongly.
hope it helps
