Hey There!

_____________________

Ratio is a significance of comparison between two same units.

Ratio is determined by the symbol ':' known as 'is to'.

To find a ratio we actually simplify both the numbers to its lowest form.

Ratio can also be written in fractional form.

Question: in a class there are 30 boys and 25 girls. find the ratio of. 1. boys to that of girls 2. girls to that of total no. of students. 3. boys to that of total no. of students

Solution:

1) Boys - 30

   Girls - 25

Ratio = 30 : 25

         =  30/25

         =  6/5

         =  6 : 5

So, The ratio of boys to the girls is 6 : 5

2) Girls - 25

   Total Student - Girls + Boys

   = 25 + 30

   =  55

Ratio = 25 :55

           = 25/55

           = 5/11

           = 5 : 11

So, The ratio of Girls to the total students is 5 : 11

3) Boys - 30

   Total students - 55

Ratio = 30 : 55

          = 30/55

          =  6/11

          = 6 : 11

So, The ratio of Boys to the total students is 6 : 11
