1) Find out the LCM of denominators=5 and 8

2) the LCM will come 40.

$3) \frac{1}{5} \times \frac{8}{8} + \frac{1}{8} \times \frac{5}{5}$
$= \frac{8 + 5}{40}$
$= \frac{13}{40}$
4) now convert 13/40 into mixed fraction:-
$= \frac{13}{40} = 3\ \frac{1}{13}$
