The total number of girls in the college is 800

Solution:

Last day except 4\% of the boys all the students were present in the college. Today except 5\% of the girls all the students are present in the college

As both the numbers present are same,

Hence we can say,

1 \ girl + 0.96 \ boy = 1 \ boy +0.95 \ girl

(1-0.95) girl = (1-0.96)boy

0.05 girl = 0.04 boy

\frac{Girl}{Boy} = \frac{0.04}{0.05} = \frac{4}{5}

Let us assume, total girls =4x and boys =5x

So,

(4x+5x) =1800

9x =1800

x =200

So number of girls is (4\times200) =800
