Given : In a company 55% of workers drink tea, 45% drink coffee and 40% drink. Milk 21% of workers drink tea and milk both, 20% drink coffee and milk both, 25% of workers tea and coffee both. 15% of workers drink all three beverages.

To find : percentage of workers who do not like any of three beverages.

Solution:

Drink Tea  T  = 55 %

Drink Coffee C  = 45 %

Drink Milk  M  = 40 %

Tea & Milk Both   T ∩ M  = 21  %

Coffee & Milk Both  C ∩ M = 20 %

Tea & Coffee both  T ∩ C = 25 %

Drink all three   T ∩ M ∩ C =  15 %

do not like any of three beverages. None  =  N  %

Total   = 100 %

Total = T  + C  +    M  -  T ∩ M  -  C ∩ M - T ∩ C + T ∩ M ∩ C + None

=> 100 = 55 + 45  + 40  - 21 - 20 - 25  + 15 + None

=> None = 11  %

11 %  workers  do not like any of three beverages.
