In a competitive exam, one mark is awarded for every correct answer while 1/2 mark is deducted for every wrong answer.Jayanthi answered 120 questions and got 90 marks. How many questions did she answer correctly?

Let no. of incorrect answers be=y

According to the question..

x+y=120

and x-1/2y=90

Subtracting the equations we get..

y=20

And thus..x=100

So..she answered 100 questions
correctly...
