Magnetic moment of Fe2+ = 2.45 BM

Magnetic moment of Fecl2 = 4.89 BM

◆ Explaination -

1) For Fe2+ cation,

No of free electrons = 2

Orbital magnetic moment is calculated by -

OMM = √(2×3) = 2.45 BM

2) For FeCl2 compound,

No of free electrons = 4

Magnetic moment is calculated by -

MM = √(4×6) = 4.89 BM
