Ratio of almond cookies:molasses cookies:cinnamon cookies= 1:7:2
Let total no. of cookies be= 1x+7x+2x= 10x
Molasses cookies=119
=> 7x=119
=>x=119/7
      =17
Total no. of cookies= 10x
(x=17)
10x=10 x 17
=170
Thus, total no. of cookies= 170

Hope it helps ;D

Given :  In a cookie mix,

almond cookies, ,  molasses cookies,  and cinnamon cookies in a ratio of 1 : 7 : 2.  a bag of the mix contains 119 molasses cookies,

To Find : total  cookies in bag

Solution:

almond cookies:  molasses cookies :  cinnamon  cookies :  = 1 : 7 : 2

Let say

almond cookies ,  molasses cookies ,  cinnamon  cookiesare  k , 7k , 2k respectively

Total = k + 7k + 2k  = 10 k

molasses cookies , = 119

=> 7k = 119

=> k = 17

Total  = 17 x 10 = 170

Hence  170  cookies are there in bag
