Step-by-step explanation:

Total balls faced by the batsman = 42

The balls on which batsman hit boundary = 6

The probability that he hits the boundary

= 6/42

Now , The probability that batsman didn't hit

the boundary = 1 - 6/42 = 36/42 = 6/7

Accroding to the question,

Total number of balls = 42

Numbers of baundary = 6

So, number of times batsman didn't hit the boundary = (42-6)=36

Probability he didn't hit a boundary = 36/42=6/7
