I want you to understand whatever law, formula you use when you solve problems! here the logic is very simple, we want to use hooke's law(note : the block is elastic (can be thought of as a strong spring with hooke's constant 'k')

Now by Newton's second law the External force 'F' must be equal to the Bouyant force 'B' + the Hooke's force 'H' (which arises due to compression) ,

But from combining N2nd law + Archimedes principle( revise if you forgot)

F = B + H= (2¶) × (Volume of block) × g + H

I will continue from here after sometime, I got an important work..
