In a cricket match, Pakistan had to score 307 runs in 50 overs to
win. They scored at an average rate of 5.6 runs per over in the first
20 overs. What should be their average run rate per over for the
remaining overs in order to reach the target?
(a)5.6 (b)6.14 (c)6.5 (d)8.4

Answer:

282-32/40 =250/40 = 6.25 So the run rate of next 40 overs = 6.25 runs per over.

Answer:

Option C) 6.5 is the correct answer

as Pakistan has to chase 307 in 50 overs

that is in an ODI match

They scored with a run rate of 5.6 in first 20 overs, therefore the runs they scored is

5.6×20=112

they scored 112

and now

307-112=195

they have to score 195 runs

also used 20 overs out of 50,that is

50-20=30

they have to scroe 195 runs in 30 overs

that is their run rate should be 195÷30

= 6.5

That is Pakistan should chase with a run rate of 6.5
