In a cylindrical dome there are 16 pillars. The radius of each
pillar is 35cm and height is 7m. Find the total cost of
painting the curved surface area of all pillars at the rate of
Rs. 8.50 per m2

rate of painting  Rs. 8.50 per square meter

To Find : the total cost of painting the curved surface area of all pillars

Solution:

CSA of cylinder = 2πRH

R = 35 cm =  35/100 m   = 7/20  m

H = 7 m

π = 22/7

CSA of one cylinder = 2(22/7)(7/20)7

= 15.4  m²

CSA of 16 cylinders = 16 * 15.4

= 246.4 m²

rate of painting  Rs. 8.50 per square meter

total cost of painting  = 246.4 * 8.5

= 2,094.4

the total cost of painting the curved surface area of all pillars at the rate of Rs. 8.50 per square meter = 2,094.4 Rs
