=> If you note carefully, on being released the hammer or discus moves along a straight line tangential to the circular path.

=> This is because once the hammer or discus is released, it continues to move along the direction it was been moving at that instant.

=> It proves that the direction of motion changed at every point when the discus/hammer was moving along the circular path.
