====================================

♦ Let the original price be 'x'.

♦ Then, reduce in price,

= reduction% of original price

= 20% of x

= 20/100 × x

= 20x/100

♦ So, reduced price,

= original price - reduce in price

= x - 20x/100

= (100x - 20x)/100

= 80x/100

♦ But, given reduced price = 220 Rs.

→→→ 80x/100 = 220

=> x = 220 × 100/80

=> x = 22000/80

=> x = 275

•°• The original price of the shirt was 275 Rs.
