Answer:

Number of students who appeared in exam is 6000.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given 50% of students passed in Science and 75% passed in Social and 20% failed in both subjects

Total number of students= 270

a+c= 50% b+c= 75%

And a + b + c = 80%

⇒a = 5% c = 45% and b = 30%

Now, 45% of number of studetns who appeared for exam

= ‌(45⁄100)x S= 2700

So, numbers of students,S= 2700×(‌100⁄45‌)= 6000
