In a factory the ratio of salary of skilled and unskilled workers is 5:3. Total salary of one day of both of them is Rs. 720. Find daily wages of skilled and unskilled workers.

We have,
Salary of skilled persons per day to unskilled persons per day = 5:3

So let the common factor of their salaries be x.
So,
Salary of skilled persons = 5x
Salary of unskilled persons = 3x

We know the salary of both per day so,

5x+3x=720
8x=720
x=90

This means the salary of skilled person is 450 (90*5) and salary of unskilled persons is 270(90*3) .
