In a fraction if the numerator and denominator are both increased by one, the fraction becomes 3/5. but if the numerator is increased by 3 while the denominator is increased by 7, the fraction becomes 1/2. what would the fraction be if the denominator increased by one but the numerator remains the same

We get x=5 and y=9
So when numerator is incresed by 1 and denominator remains same the fraction will be 2/3
