Since it is a right angle triangle,

So, (AC)² = (AB)² + (BC)²

(BC)² = (26)² - (10)²

(BC)² = 676 - 100

(BC)² = 576

BC = √576

BC = 24 cm

Now we know area of a trianlge = 1/2 b x h (where b is the base of the triangle and h is the height of the triangle)

= 1/2 * 10 * 24

= 240/2

= 120 cm²

Hence our answer is 120 cm². That is the required area.

We can find the length of side BC by pythagoras theorem
i.e
{{ab} }^{2} +   {bc}^{2}   =  {ac}^{2}
100^2 + bc^2 =26^2
bc^2= 676-100
bc^2= 576
bc= 24

now we can use area = 1/2 * height * base
= 1/2* bc*ab
=1/2 *10 * 24
=120 cm sqaured
