let the numerator be 'x'
denominator=3x-5
if numerator = x-2 and denominator=3x-5+4=3x-1
and 12 is added to
denominator=3x-5+12
=3x+7
=x-2/3x-1=x/3x+7
=x-2 (3x+7 )=x (3x-1)
=3×x (x)+7x-6x-14=3×x (x)-x
=-x=x-14
=2x=14
=x=7
function =7/16
hope this may help you...
