x= a^2+b^2=c^2
=8^2+b^2=17^2
=64+b^2=289
=b^2=289-64
=b^2=225
=b=15
therefore x is 15cm

In triangle PRS
(PS)^2=(RS)^2+(PR)^2 {using pythagorus theorem}
100=36+(PR)^2
(PR)^2=64
PR=8
In triangle PQR
(PQ)^2=(PR)^2+(QR)^2 {using pythagorus theorem}
289=64+x^2
x^2=225
x=15
