9 People

Given:

The total number of people that are there(A ∪ B) = 60

The set of the people who drink cold drinks  n(A) = 27

The set of people who drink hot drinks  n(B) = 42

To Find:

The number of people who like both coffee and tea.

Calculating:

To calculate we use the formula:

n(A ∩ B) = n(A) + n(B) - n(A ∪ B)

Substituting all the values known to us in this formula we get:

= 27 + 42 - 60

= 69 - 60

= 9

Therefore, there are 9 people in the group who like both coffee and tea.
