Given:

  1. Distance participants were expected to jog =  35,00,000 meters
  2. Distance jogged in the first few minutes = 65,000 meters

To find:

  1. Hundreds that must be added to 65,000 to make 35,00,000?

Solution:

  1. Distance participants were expected to jog =  35,00,000 meters
  2. Distance jogged in the first few minutes = 65,000 meters
  3. Distance left to jog to complete event = 35,00,000 meters - 65,000 meters = 343500 meteres

Thus, the distance that is left to jog tto complete the event is 3,43,500 meteres.

34350   hundreds must be added to 65 000 to make 3 500 000

Given:

3 500 000 metres is expected to be jogged altogether

65 000 metres jogged in the first few minutes

To Find:

How many hundreds must be added to 65 000 to make 3 500 000

Solution:

Step 1:

Convert  3 500 000 m in Hundreds

= 35000 x 100 m

= 35000  Hundred meters

Step 2:

Convert  65 000 m in Hundreds

=650  x 100  m

= 650   Hundred meters

Step 3:

Assume that N hundreds must be added to 65 000 to make 3 500 000

N Hundreds  + 65 000 =  3 500 000

=> N Hundreds  + 650 Hundred = 35000 Hundred

All are in same unit hence

N  + 650 = 35000

=> N = 35000 - 650

=> N = 34350

Hence , 34350   hundreds must be added to 65 000 to make 3 500 000
