Question:

In a house 2 bulbs of 50w each are used for 5 hours a day and two 70w fans are used 10hours a day. calculate the units consumed in a month of 30 days?

ANSWER:

Power of each bulb = 50W= 0.05 KW

Power of both the bulbs=2 × 0.05=0.1 KW

Units used by the bulbs in a day

= 0.1 × 5

= 0.5 units

Power of each fan ÷ 70W = 0.07KW

Power consumed by both fans

= 0.07 × 2

= 0.14

Units used by the fans in a day

= 0.14 × 10

= 1.4 units

Total units consumed in a day

= 0.5+1.4

= 1.9 units

Units of energy consumed in a month of 30 days

= 30 × 1.9

= 57 units

ans. therefore 57 units of electricity is consumed in a month in the house.
