in a house 4 electric bulbs of 40 watts burn for 5 hours, 2 bulbs of 60 watts for 6 hours and 3 fans of 80 watts for 6 hours, daily. What would be the cost of electricity, for one month of that home, if the Rate is 50 paise per unit? (Rs 44.4)

Solution:

For Electric bulbs :-

⇒ Power = 40 × 4 = 160 w

⇒ Hour = 5 hour

⇒ Days = 30 days

\sf{\implies Unit=\dfrac{Power\times Hour\times Day}{1000}}

\sf{\implies \dfrac{160\times 5\times 30}{1000}}

\sf{\implies 24\;units}

For Bulbs :-

⇒ Power = 60 × 2 = 120 w

⇒ Hour = 6 hour

⇒ Days = 30 days

\sf{\implies Unit=\dfrac{Power\times Hour\times Day}{1000}}

\sf{\implies \dfrac{120\times 6\times 30}{1000}}

\sf{\implies 21.6\;unit}

For Fan :-

⇒ Power = 80 × 3 = 240 w

⇒ Hour = 6 hour

⇒ Days = 30 days

\sf{\implies Unit=\dfrac{Power\times Hour\times Day}{1000}}

\sf{\implies \dfrac{240\times 6\times 30}{1000}}

\sf{\implies 43.2\;unit}

Now, total unit = 24 + 21.6 + 43.2

⇒ Total unit = 88.8 unit.

Now, 1 unit = 50 Paise

So, 88.8 unit = 88.8 × 0.50

⇒ Rs. 44.4
