Answer:

1015

Step-by-step explanation:

xi = 600, 800, 1000, 1200, 1400

assumed mean (a) = 1000

di = -400, -200, 0, 200, 400

h = 200

ui = -2, -1, 0, 1, 2

fiui = -12, -8, 0, 9, 14

£fiui = 3

£fi = 40

mean = a + (£fiui/£fi)×h

1000+ ( 3/40)×200

= 1000+15

1015

Solution :-

Expenses (Fi) Xi FiXi

500-700 6 600 3600

700-900 8 800 6400

900-1100 10 1000 10000

1100-1300 9 1200 10800

1300-1500 7 1400 9800

⅀Fi = 40 ⅀FiXi = 40600

we know that,

  • Mean = ⅀FiXi/ ⅀Fi .

therefore,

→ Mean = 40600 / 40

→ Mean = 1015 (Ans.)

Hence, the mean daily expenses of the family is 1015 .
