In a longitudinal wave there is a state of maximum compression at a point at an instant. The frequency of wave is 50Hz. After what time will the same point be in the state of maximum rarefraction.

T=1/freq.
T=1/50
T=0.2s
the time period is 0.2s
but we are talking about the next rarefaction not compression so, T/2 = 0.1 s

Answer:

Explanation:

As we know that

Time period =1/frequency

T=1/50=0.02

But in the above question , we are talking about the rarefraction not

Compression. So, we have to divide T by 2 i.e

T/2= 0.02/2 = 0.01 = 1/ 100 sec

I HOPE IT HELPS YOU ☺
