In 144 bulbs, 20 are defective so,

144-20=124 bulbs are good

Therefore, the probability of,

i) Defective= 20/144=5/36

ii) Good=124/144=31/36

Step-by-step explanation:

(1) Total no. of bulbs = 144

No. of defective pens = 20

No. of good ones = 124

Probability (E) = No. of favourable outcomes/ No. of total outcomes

P( of getting defective pen) = 20/144

= 5/36

(2) P( of getting good one) = 124/144

= 31/36
