Here L = 40 cm.

Using Metre Bridge Formulla:

\frac{P}{Q} = \frac{R}{X}

OR

\frac{L}{100-L} = \frac{R}{X}

Therefore:

\frac{R}{X} = \frac{40}{60}

= \frac{2}{3}

Hey !

______________________________

Here,

l = 40 cm.

Using Metre Bridge Formulae,

★ P/Q = R/X

Or

★ X/Y = l/100 - l

So,

X/Y = 40 / 100 - 40

= 40 / 60

= 2/3
