The days up to which food will last is 32 days.

Given:

Total number of soldiers = 200

Days till food will last = 50

Total number of new soldiers = 50

Days after which they joined = 10

To Find:

For how many days the remaining food will last?

Solution:

Initial soldiers = 200

Additional soldiers = 50

Therefore, total soldiers-

= 200 + 50

= 250

The food lasted for 50 days, days after which they joined were 10,

Thus, the remaining days = 50 - 10

= 40

By inverse proportion -

x = 200 × 40 / 250

x = 8000/250

x = 800/25

x = 32

Answer: The days up to which food will last is 32 days.
