In a mixture of 100g two liquids are mixed in the ratio 1:3 of their masses. If their densities are 1.25gcm-3 and 0.6gcm-3. Find the density of the mixture.​

I.e., m and 3m

Densities 1.25gcm-3 and 0.6gcm-3

We know that d =m/V

V = m/d

V1 = m/1.25 =0.8m

V2 =3m/0.6 = 5m

Total volume V = V1 +V2

= (0.8+5)m = 5.8m =5.8*100 = 580

Given mass of mixture is 100g

Density of mixture is

m/V =100/580 =0.172gcm-3
