In a mixture of 60 ltr the ratio of milk and water is 2:1 what amount of water should be added to make this ratio 1:2

Answer: 60 litres

Step-by-step explanation:

Let current quantity of milk be 2x and water be x.

2x+x= 60

3x = 60

X = 20

So milk = 2x = 40

Water = x = 20

Now to make ratio 1:2 water should be twice of milk ie there should be 80 litres water as compared to milk

So water to be added = 80-20 = 60 litres.
