(a)  Let the salary be x Spent on food =2x/5

Spent on education =3x/20

Spent on transport =x/10

Spent on entertainment =3x/20

Spent on miscellaneous expenses =x/20

Savings =4500 x=2x/5+3x/20+x/10+3x/20+x/20+4500

On solving  3x=90000 x=30000 is the monthly salary

b)  Spent on food =2/5*30000 =12000

Spent on transport =30000/10 =3000

Spent on education =3/20*30000 =4500
