The average speed of the lift is 1.33 m/s.

Given: The lift takes 15 seconds to go from the ground to the fourth floor without stopping. If the height of each floor is 5 meters.

To Find: The average speed of the lift.

Solution:

It is said that there are 4 floors and the height of each floor is 5 m.

So total distance the lift travels is = ( 5 × 4 ) m = 20 m

Time taken to go from  ground to the fourth floor without stopping = 15 s

So, the average speed of the lift is = Total distance / Time taken

                                                            =  ( 20 / 15 ) m/s

                                                            = 1.33 m/s

Hence, the average speed of the lift is 1.33 m/s.
