The set of all first elements of the ordered pair in a relation R from a set A to set B is called the domain of the relation R

The set of all second elements in a relation R from a set A to a set B is called the range of the relation R

DOMAIN:

domain is a set of values of x, for which the value of function is defined.

e. g.,

f(x) = x
here, we can put x any thing as there is no issue of indefinite.

hence, domain of f(x) is R.

take second example
f(x) =  \frac{1}{1 - x}
here you can put any value of x except x=1;

because at x =1 , denominator of function will become zero and function well become indefinite

hence domain is R - {1}

RANGE

range is the set of values given by function (on putting the values of x included in domain)

for eg.,

f(x) = x

here domain is R

also, range is R
