Given : At the beginning of the year, Adrian's savings account balance was  $28 . Each week, he deposits another  $15 into that account, and he doesn't spend any of his savings.

To Find : Is his savings account balance proportional to the number of weeks since the start of the year

Solution:

beginning of the year ( week 0) - amount is $ 28

then Each week added = $15

Week                    Saving account balance in $

0                                28

1                                 28+15 = 43

2                                43+15 = 58

3                                58+15 = 73

savings account balance is not  proportional to the number of weeks since the start of the year

graph of a proportional relationship must pass through (0, 0).

but it has ( 0 , 28)

Hence not proportional
