angle p and angle q are adjacent angles

thus,

p+q=180°

substituting the values of p and q we get

2x+9+3x+21=180

5x+30=180

5x=150

x=30

angle p = 2x+9=2×30+9=60+9=69

angle q=3x+21=3×30+21=90+21=111
