In a parallelogram, the ratio of the adjacent sides is 3:4 and its perimeter is 42 cm, then finds the sides of a parallelogram.
• In the following question, we are asked to find out the sides of a parallelogram by proving the side ratios.
• It could be easily found out by using perimeter formula of parallelogram.
⇢ Let the sides be 3x and 4x
then, we know :-
⇒ 42 = 2(3x + 4x)
⇒ 7x =
⇒ 7x = 21
∴ x = 3
The sides of the parallelogram are :-
→ 3x = 3×3 = 9 m
→ 4x = 4×3 = 12 m

★ Solution
→ Let the sides = 3x and 4x
we know that :-
Perimeter of parallelogram=2(a+b)
→ 42 = 2(3x + 4x)
→
→ 7x = 21
★ x = 3
★ Answer
The sides of the parallelogram are :
→ 3x = 3x3 = 9 m
→ 4X= 4x3 = 12 m
