Let x be common ratio so

So ratio will be 2x and 1x

Area is 50 cm2 and

Area of parallelogram is length * altitude

Let us take 2x be length and 1x be altitude

Therefore according to problem

2x*x = 50

Multipltying like terms

2x^2 = 50

Dividing both side with 2...

x^2 = 25

So when square goes to other side of '=' it converts to square root and we will do the same

Square root of 25 is 5...

So

x = 5

....and finally the altitude is 5 cm.
