In a poll to pick the name of a new planet discovered in a distant solar system, a total of 963 scientists voted. There were four names to pick from. The winning name exceeded the other names by 53, 79, and 105 votes, respectively. How many scientists voted for the name which came fourth in the poll?​

then number of scientist voted in third poll will be x + 105

now ,number of scientist voted in second poll will be, x + 105 + 79 = x+ 184

no number of scientist voted in first poll will be ,x + 105+ 79 + 53= x+ 237

total number of scientist voted

is =963

:. x+ x+105+x+184+x+237= 963

4x + 526 = 963

4x = 963- 526

x= 337/4

x = 109.25

hence no. of scientist voted will be approximate equal to 109.
