USING PYTHAGORAS THEOREM,

BD² = BC² + CD²

BD² = 3² + 12²

BD² = 9 + 144 = 153

BD = √153

NOW,

AB² = AD² - BD²

AB² = 13² - (√153)²

AB² = 169 - 153

AB² = 16

AB = 4 CM.

HENCE,

SIDE AB = 4 CM.
