In a question it iswritten find net charge when key is pressed what do we mean by key is pressed ??? What Does that mean key is open or key closed ?

The net charge when the key is open means that there will be no charge or current flowing through the key as opening the key will break the connections between the circuits thus breaking the circuit.

The net charge while flowing through a close key will be functional as the whole  current will flow through the key with no loss of current(excluding resistance of the key).
