It is to note that in a fraction, the first term of a ratio is called antecedent and the second term is said to be consequent.

Here the ratio is 5 : 6

The antecedent is 5 and the consequent 6

If the consequent is 42, the antecedent is

=) 5 / 6 × 42

=) 35 (ANS)
