In a reaction,5g ethyl acetate is hydrolysed per litre in the presence of dil. HCl in 300 min. If the reaction is of first order, and the initial concentration of ethyl acetate is 22g/L, then calculate the rate constant of the reaction.

Hello friend
Initial concentration of ethyl acetate = 22g/l

Rate of reaction is given = 5/300 molarity/sec.

So
It is forst order reactions

Hence
R = k[acetic acid ] ^1
5/300 = k [ 22 ]
So
K = 5/300/22
0.00075 sec-1
Or
7.5 × 10^-4 per second

Hope it will help you
