Answer:

Let breadth of the rectangle be 'b' cm.

So length of the rectangle will be 'b+2' cm.

Now

Perimeter =48

2(l+b)=48

2(b+2+b)=48

2b+2=24

2b=22

b=11 cm

l=b+2=13 cm

Then,

Area of the rectangle =lb

=13×11

=143 cm

Answer:

The Length of the rectangle is 7/2

The Breath of the rectangle is  3/2

The Area of the rectangle is 21/4=5 1/4

Step-by-step explanation:

Area of a rectangle

A= l×b

length is 2 meter more than breadth

l=2+b===>1

A=5 1/4

Area is in mixed fraction

A=21/4

Substitute  equation 1 in 2

A=l×b===>2

21/4=(2+b)(b)

21/4=2b+b²

b²+2b-21/4=0

a=1

b=2

c=-21/4

Product= a×c=-21/4

Sum=2

The values are -3/2 and 7/2

product=(-3/2)(7/2)=-21/4

Sum=(-3/2)+(7/2)=4/2=2

b²-3/2b+7/2b-21/4=0

b(b-3/2)+7/2(b-3/2)=0

(b-3/2)(b+7/2)=0

These are the Two values of the quadratic equation

b-3/2=0

b=3/2

b+7/2=0

b=-7/2

Negative value should be neglected

So, breadth of the rectangle is

b=3/2==>3

To find length

Substitute equation 3 in 1

l=2+b

l=2+3/2

l=(4+3)/2

l=7/2
