Perimeter given = 20 cm
Breadth Given = 4 cm

Length given = let’s consider it as variable x

2( length + breadth ) = perimeter of rectangle

2( x + 4 ) = 20 cm
2x + 8. = 20 cm
2x = 20 - 8 (transposition)
2x = 12 cm
2x/2 = 12/2
x = 6 cm (breadth)

Therefore length = 4cm and breadth = 6 cm

Hence area of rectangle = length x breadth

(A) = 4 x 6
(A) = 24 cm

Therefore breadth = 6cm; Area = 24 cm
