The lengths of the sides are: 22.5cm , 27.5cm.

Given:

Perimeter of rectangle = 1m

One side is 5cm longer than the other.

To Find:

The lengths of the sides.

Solution:

P=1m

Let length be l and breadth be b.

=> l=b+5cm

WKT, P=2(l+b)

= 2(b+b+5)

100 =4b+10

4b=90

b=22.5cm

l=22.5+5=27.5cm

Hence, sides of the rectangle are of 22.5cm and 27.5cm length respectively.
