Given, \dfrac{BC}{AB}=\dfrac{1}{\sqrt{3}}



From trigonometry, we know that they ratio of base to height ( perpendicular ) of a particular angle { A } is known as cotA.




In the question, ratio of base to height is 1 / √3



cot∅ = 1 / √3

From trigonometric table, 1 / √3 = cot 60°
----------------------------

cot∅ = tan60°

∅ = 60°




Ratio of height to hypotenuse ( AB : AC ) of a particular angle { A } is known as sinA



AB / AC = sin60°

From trigonometric table,

sin 60° = √3 / 2
----------------------------

AB / AC = √3 / 2
