BD 1 AC, and is the radius of the cone formed.

In right- angled AABC, AC? = AB? + BC? - AC? = 152 + 202

- AC? = 225 + 400 AC? = 625

- AC = 25 cm

So, CD = 25 - AD

In right angled AABD

ABP = ADP + BD2

BD2 = 152 - ADP.... (1)

In right - angled ACBD

CB? = BD? + CD?

- BD? = 202 - (25 - AD)....(2)

From (1) and (2)

152 - ADP = 202 - (25 - AD)

+225 - ADP = 300 - 625 + 50AD - ADP

-50AD = - 450

- AD = 9 cm - CD = 25 - 9 = 16 cm

So, BD2 = 152 - AD... (from (1))

BD? = 225 -81- BD = + 12

Since BD is the radius, and radius cannot be negative, BD = 12 cm

Volume of the double cone = = Volume of upper cone + Volume of lower cone

+ 3

-글까2(AD+ CD)=글찌(12)7(25)= 1200T cm?

Surface area of the double cone

= Curved Surface area of upper cone + Curved surface area of lower cone

= Tr(AB) + Tr(BA) = Ttr(15 + 20)

= n12(35)= 420T cm²
